12 WAYS TO STYLE A SCARF
A silk square scarf has become a staple in my closet for years now and I don’t see it ever rotating out. It’s as timeless as it is chic. I always pack one or two with me when I travel to add instant glam and polish to any look. Watch this segment of Twin Cities Live to see 12 different ways to style a scarf – including 5 ways as a swimsuit cover-up.
Look Number 1
Look for multi-colored or double-sided scarves that will give you multiple styling options depending on how you fold it.
Outfit c/o one of my favorite local boutiques Style Hunt. Use code mamaseeman10 at checkout for 10% off!
Denim Jacket | Black and White Pants | Aerosmith Tee (similar here in a longer length) | Scarf (available in other colors in store, similar online here, here, and here)| Leopard Sandals
Look Number Two
Look for a large silk scarf with different patterns on each quadrant for endless wrapping options.
Polka Dot Blouse | Old NavyHigh Rise Crop Flares (under $50) | White Booties (on clearance at Target)| Scarf (old, similar here and here) | Belt Bag | Stella & Dot Love Script Necklace
My Look
This is as basic as it gets for me.
5 Ways To Style a Sarong
Finding a swimsuit cover up that doesn’t make you feel frumpy can be quite a challenge, which is why I’m swapping mine out for an oversized cotton scarf instead. You can adjust the coverage throughout the day depending on how much or how little skin you want exposed.
The last two looks I made up on the fly as I was trying to come up with something different to show and I have to say they just might be my favorite ones! I love a happy accident style moment.
L’Space ‘Rita’ Swimsuit (limited sizes left at most retailers since it’s last seasons. Also loving this polka dot one piece, this color blocked one, this colorful striped number, or this classic black option) | Scarf Options here, here, and here | Stella & Dot Clutch
Stay inspired!

Amy
HOLIDAY PARTY LOOKS
Holiday party season is among us and my inbox is filling up with style questions on what to wear. I pulled some inspiration from my own closet and realized I have more holiday ready looks than I do party invites so it looks like I’m going to need to get out more!
In true girl on a budget fashion, I wanted to show how you could mix and match a few key pieces to create multiple looks without having to buy an entirely new outfit for each party you are attending. It’s an expensive time of year so my husband tries to reign me in by putting a shopping freeze on buying anything for myself for the entire month of December. AS IF! I mean does he even know what it’s like to lock eyes with a sequin sweater that just gets you? I’m talking to you, Zara.
For more Holiday Inspired Looks, I partnered with the Shops at 50th and France in Edina on a recent Twin Cities Live segment: What to Wear and What to Bring. Don’t forget to #shopsmall this holiday season, Friends!
XO,
Amy
LULULEMON TRY-ON SWEAT SESH
If you’re local to MN you MUST check out the new Lululemon experiential store at the Mall of America – it’s so much more than just shopping!
If you’re local to MN you MUST check out the new Lululemon experiential store at the Mall of America – it’s so much more than just shopping! I had the chance to attend an influencer event there recently where we shopped, took a yoga class with one of their ambassadors @goldieyoga (Full disclosure: I was a struggle bus, but Goldie was super encouraging to check your inhibitions at the door so that’s what I did!), sampled treats from the Fuel Bar, and connected with some pretty amazing creatives in our community. It was glorious.
For a list of their upcoming sweat classes, visit www.lululemon.com/moaclasses. And when you’re done you can use their spa-like locker room to shower. It is fully stocked with complimentary product and Dyson hair dryers. Then bring your laptop and get some work done in the lounge style connect room while you sip on a smoothie, because you earned it!
I bought this whole look and wore it for the yoga class. These joggers are buttery soft and will get lots of use –
in and out of the gym!
Special thanks to my fiercely driven friend, @dkruegerfit for using your talents to bring people together in a unique way. Follow her on Instagram for your daily dose of fitness and inspiration – her energy is infectious!
